The blogging gurus have come up with an answer to comment spam:
From now on, when Google sees the attribute (rel=”nofollow”) on hyperlinks, those links won’t get any credit when we rank websites in our search results.
This will kill all spam as we know it.

This will only stop spammers which there aim is to gain pagerank! If there aim is to gain traffic to there website this ill have no affect!
