Unless Mobipocket supports the pdf format, I doubt it will be very successful. I have been hoping that Adobe will bring out a reader to hold in the hand.

Being an ebook author myself, I would like to see in everyone's hand a reader that is inexpensive, lightweight & portable, and supporting the pdf format which is becoming universal.

As an ebook author, I make all my ebooks in the pdf format.

By the way, if anyone is looking for original niche ebooks to resell, go here and take a look: www.ResellEbooksBuzz.com

Thanks!

You may be right - but I tend to doubt it. Mobipocket build 4.39 has a major flaw that they have yet to fix around MSWord. Their fees to authors and publishers is better than MSReader and the reader itself is far more stable and wih many more features. For the very small screen, writers will have to re-think how they write - classic "books" will not cut it - just like the printing press made writing adapt to it, the technology will drive the content - See Marshall McLuhan for some insight here. I recently wrote a book - the first I've written that I thought worthy of production. In ebook format it works really well - but it totally sucks in paper print. I'm at the end of my tenure here - so seeing what was once my main method of communication being so easily swept aside is disturbing. But what comes in its place is hundreds of times more effective. Amazon has a better grasp of this medium than Microsoft ~ MS has already become the dinosaur in this field. But like all lumbering behomeths, it cannot move that swiftly. Mobipocket will set the pace - I've only used it once and already I'm a believer... you are sure to follow. JOE
