While wondering if my congressman Al Green would be dumb enough to vote for the price gouging bill (he was), I wanted some way to track the votes of your congressman. In the past that has been surprisingly difficult and has contributed in some part to lack of accountability. (If you don’t know what to give your congressman heat for, how can they change their minds?)
I looked it up on Washington Post’s voting database, and voila! I notice that not only do they publish congressional votes (votes by day and important votes of the year) , they offer this information as an RSS feed. I wonder, what could I ever do with an RSS feed?
Actually though, that gives a good statement of what the congressman did. The key is finding out what the congressman will be doing in the next week or two. To that end, email newsletters are just the best resource.
