Oyster crime in Texas

Wanna know what makes Texas special? Our criminal justice systems is so highly developed that there are now 2300 different kinds of felonies on the Texas law books, 11 of the felonies are related to oysters. (so Scott Henson of Grits for Breakfast reports). Here’s a  follow up on this post:

in the State of Texas there is a law of parties. If you are anywhere near the perpetrator when he commits the crime, you get the same penalty. In other words, if it is a capital offense the oyster could get fried!

Chuck Kuffner reports the estimated spending per prisoner in the Texas penal system as $35,000  Gosh, it’s not like we have anything better to spend the money on.
