I believe there is a word that (bascially) describes “properly using a word (in a sentance) without knowwing the exact meaning.” Would you know that word?

Supererogation…Great word! I just added it. (I knew the meaning of it of course, but it justified a second look nonetheless.

At my first editing job, I wrote the headline, “Breadmaker fills a ‘knead’” — my supervisor was appalled I had misspelled “need.” When I explained the pun, it turned out he had never encountered the word, which stunned me.

I was excited to finally be able to use “supererogation” in a sentence (read it in a Georgette Heyer long ago), only to find out I’d had the word wrong when I double-checked the meaning just in time.

Ickily, I think “set-to” comes from (human-instigated) dog-fighting: one “sets” the animals toward each other.
