Jay Lee on why Texans are favoring Kinky Friedman for governor. (Note to my future grandchildren reading this: Kinky is a minor colorful politician who tried to run for Texas governor and was quickly forgotten afterwards):
No one I have talked to can really say why they’re for Kinky…what he stands for or what we can expect from him as governor. In some regards I think people just enjoy saying the word “Kinky” out loud or revelling in the perceived effect of the word prominently displayed on the bumper of their pick-em-up truck.
On a related note, I’ve always been amused at the perverted/kinky dichotomy. If a man has wierd sexual tastes, he’s a pervert; if a woman does, she’s kinky.
