Hurricane Weblog

Ok, here’s a great hurricane/weather weblog. It’s not official, but it looks like I’ll be leaving for San Antonio/Austin for the weekend. The upgrade to a category 5 hurricane has gotten everybody panicked, and it looks as if my company will shut down 2 days and maybe 3. I’ll be turning off my webserver right before leaving. If you can read this, I’m still in Houston!

In Houston, what we fear are not the hurricane winds but the threat of constant flooding. Houston is not a coastal town but 60 miles off the coast. In our last tropical storm in 2001 (when I was vacationing along the gorgeous beaches of Bulgaria), the area flooded severely. So what we pray for is a fast-moving hurricane. Do your stuff, and then get the hell out of here!
