A few quick things. Recently I clicked to yahoo’s premium email service. 2 gigs for $20, which sounds like a good deal. Yahoo includes address guard, which lets you create unlimited disposable email addresses. For example, my disposable email address might be plato2004, and for amazon mail, I can use the email plato20040000-amazon@yahoo.com, for ebay, plato20040000-ebay@yahoo.com and so on. It sounds like a good idea.
It seems like I spent the entire weekend cleaning. More on that later. On a postive note, I started experimenting with python and will do so for the next few days. I read Mark Pilgrim’s excellent (but abstruse) DiveintoPython. I’ve come to the point where I can follow the code pretty well, but I don’t know if I can actively use the concepts. Unfortunately, books/tutorials don’t give exercises to test your mastery of python syntax. I’ve been trying to create a few simple scripts, and in a day or two, I expect to be relatively comfortable doing simple scripts. A lot of it is becoming familiar with using an IDE and remembering where to find things in the Standard Library. But it’s funny how syntax can become second nature. We’ll see whether the time is well spent.
